Working in the Rain

Man Wearing Rain Gear

I am sure all of us have heard the phrase, “April showers bring May flowers.” No, this post is not about poetry – it is about rain gear. Spring is just a couple of weeks away and summer will be on its heels. It is getting to be that time of year when the rain comes and goes without much warning especially for those people who live in the south.

No matter what type of job you do, getting wet and cold is never a pleasant experience. There are several jobs that involve working outside regardless if it is raining or not. The object here is to keep dry and deal with Mother Nature’s wrath. In the case of those people who work in environments where visibility is an issue, high visibility rain gear is the best solution. Granted, visibility is reduced due to the rain, but the fluorescent colored fabric will help motorists and co-workers to see you.

Perhaps you are a delivery person, utility technician, farmer, etc. You people are in the group who need ponchos and rain suits since packing up and going home simply is not an option. A rain poncho is a great idea for people who are in and out of the elements to keep the upper body dry without slowing you down. Rain suits are an ideal solution for those people who are constantly in the elements for extra coverage to remain dry.

Another benefit of rain gear is you will not be sloshing through your house with damp clothing and shoes on. Trust me; I know what a pain it is to clean up water throughout the house from being caught in the rain. Be prepared for inclement weather and get your rain gear. Be safe and dry!
